Product Description
The Saint Minimus headlamp is identical to our Saint headlamp except that, instead of the full size battery pack and cables, it runs on a single 123A battery contained in a module that screws directly into the light assembly. Minimus produces a wide, variable-output beam optimized for your field of vision. Adjustment from 0 to 100 lumens is done with one hand—even cold or gloved—using a built-in variable light-output dial. Built from hard-anodized aerospace aluminum, Minimus is lightweight yet tough enough for the rigors of caving and mountaineering, and is submersible to 3 feet for up to thirty minutes. The fine-mesh headband features a moisture wicking Breathe-O-Prene pad that provides unmatched comfort and dryness.

By B. Mcdaniel
I have purchased ~5 of these - most as gifts. They are awesome! Well worth the extra $. Best head lamp I have ever owned (Including multiple Pellican and Petzel models). Its comfortable to wear, very light weight, and it doesn't bite into your forehead after extended use. I have actually worn it for hours on end and forgot I had it on. It doesn't get hot while wearing it (even with the light on the brightest setting it only get a little warm on your forehead since it is LED). The broad light pattern is very even and free of hot spots. Illumination is bright clean and even out to the illumination edges. It covers the full field of vision for working with your hands, close to your body very well. On the brightest setting it still throws a very useful pattern of light as much as 50-100 feet ahead of you (I have actually used it as a biking light at night with very good effect). The light body pivots 360 degrees so you can point the light further up or down depending on what you are doing. The battery life is pretty good ~2hrs on the highest setting and ~50hrs on low setting - it meets or exceeds the published specs. On the lowest setting it gives plenty of light to be useful in situations where a little light goes a long way - like a crawl space or attic, or reading in bed. It is a no-brainer to use...twist up the side knob to make it brighter and twist down to dim or turn off - it is just like a dimmer switch. You can also wear it left or right handed so no special model is needed for lefties.
I have used this light with great results for all manner of things including: reading in bed, removing splinters, BBQ'ing at night, working on the car, night bike rides, working under the sink/in the crawl space/in the attic/in the basement, setting up goose decoys before sunrise, poking around in the dark closet, loading/unloading cargo from vehicles in the dark, setting up outside Christmas decorations after dark, moving around the campsite in the woods after dark, cooking during a power outage, remodeling/handyman work, plus about a million other times when I needed good light and my hands free but most important it is perfect for generally making my friends ultra jealous! Perhaps the truest measure of usefullness & quality!
Surefire did an awesome job designing this product! Normally, they make top notch tactical gear, but this little light has so many uses, it is way beyond tactical...I think everyone from SWAT teams to workmen to doctors, nurses, mechanics, and grandmothers would use the heck out of this awesome little LED head light, and be pleased as punch to do it. Surefire out did themselves!

By Mark C.
I purchased this light to replace a smaller Princeton unit I had been using for the past 2 years. I already own 2 other Surefire flashlights and have found their performance to be outstanding so I had high expectations of the Saint Minimus headlamp. On my first venture with this light I used it for a total of about 20 hours and went through 3 batteries. I have to admit is uses batteries faster than my Princeton unit, but the brightness can not be compared. I used this outdoors in Utica NY at the end of January, 2011 and it was COLD! The CR123 lithium battery really helped as I loaned my Princeton unit to someone else and it was quite dim with just regular AAA batteries. This light, is light, secure, stays whre you point it and seems to be very well built. I use a headlamp like this because I need light while working with both hands in cramped spaces. I said I had high expectations, and they were met. I would recommend this to anyone who demands a lot out of their tools and expects good performance from them.

Ditto the first review. I saw my first one at Blade Show 2010 in Atlanta. Ordered one. Got it in hand and immediately ordered another. Waterproof to 3' for 30 minutes, lightweight, great light output and rugged construction.
